Wyrd & Wonder TBR

This is probably too many books. I will figure out later which ones I will actually read. I will start Monstress, Vol. 3: Haven first. I will have a blog post with the prompts (see previous post) later, most likely on the weekend.

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez — paperback from the library

Monstress, Vol. 3: Haven by Marjorie Liu — checked out ebook version (Image Comics)

House of Whispers #1 by NalHopkinson (Vertigo Comics) checked out ebook version

Declare by Tim Powers (OverDrive audio, library) — World Fantasy Award Winner)

Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay (library hold)

The Innkeepers Song by Peter Beagle

Published by Beth @ Beth's Bookish Thoughts

This blog is for my thoughts on reading. A couple of my friends on GoodReads have blogs, so eventually I decided to start one myself. I hope to get involved in the book blogging community and become a better reader and writer! I am not accepting copies of new books for review, but I would be interested in new editions or new translations of classic authors. Find me on Upwork (as an editor) in the profile link. From September 2018 to October 2020 I blogged at Blogger.

  1. Oooh this is an interesting combination of Wyrd and Wonder reads! I look forward to hearing what you make of them – and welcome to the Wyrd and Wonder family 😀

  2. Hallo, Hallo Beth,Routing myself through #WyrdAndWonder this first weekend – as one of your co-hosts, I wanted to welcome you to the event and also to say, sometimes the best way to read through this event is to have a copious amount of stories to pull from and then, each in turn as you feel motivated to read them can become your favourite book in hand at the moment you arrive inside their chapters! 🙂 I have a lovely large TBR this month – pulled from the stories I had to hold off reading from Year 1 and the new stories I found via #ReviewPit this Spring.I've only heard of one of these authors but I haven't read her works – which styles of Fantasy are these? I was hoping you might have said why each one appealled to you – I love finding out about what motivates someone to pick up a book – I will definitely check back with you and see how your doing!Happy reading and discovering this #WyrdAndWonder!!

  3. Tigana is historical fantasy (I think?) I have been meaning to read something by Kay for a long time. The Innkeepers Song is a recommendation from one of my GR friends.Declare is a supernatural spy novel (I think?). I will start it soon. One Hundred Years of Solitude is for the Back to the Classics Challenge at karensbooksandchocolate.blogspot.com (Latin America category).I am a little bit behind on blogging, but I will do some prompts today or tomorrow.
